Then again, the blood-chilling creep of mid-album highlight “Feel the Pain” — crooned by kinda corpse-painted frontman Dave Vanian — is a heart-panging proto-goth classic. Influential on many levels, it’s a damned classic album. Essential listening for any punk devotee.
