Ursprünglich 2012 veröffentlicht, ist The Very Beast of Dio, Vol. 2 die Fortsetzung der Kompilation The Very Beast of Dio aus dem Jahr 2000, die Tracks der ersten sechs Dio-Alben und der Live-EP enthielt. Da Vol. 2 dort anschließt, wo das vorherige Album aufhörte, enthält es Tracks der siebten bis zehnten Alben der Band, die zwischen 1996 und 2004 veröffentlicht wurden. 2-LP-Set gepresst auf farbigem Vinyl in der Farbe "Dragon's Fire".
