36 Crazyfists se formó en 1994 en Nikiski, Alaska, y lanzaron su segundo álbum de estudio A Snow Capped Romance en 2004 bajo el sello Roadrunner Records. Los sencillos "At the End of August" y "Bloodwork" fueron lanzados, y este último apareció en la película de 2004 Resident Evil: Apocalypse. El álbum fue producido por James Paul Wisner y es considerado por la comunidad como un clásico del metalcore. 36 Crazyfists se ha ganado su lugar en la escena del metalcore, tomando pequeñas influencias de bandas aquí y allá, pero generalmente creando algo increíblemente singular y emocionalmente impactante.
