Il sesto album dei Led Zeppelin è una straordinaria dimostrazione di ispirazione rock and roll. Il loro doppio LP imponente li vide tornare nella bucolica Headley Grange nell'Hampshire, nel Regno Unito, per incidere una serie di nuovi brani, inclusi pezzi ipnotici e intensi con accompagnamento orchestrale come l'immortale "Kashmir" e il funk-panico "Trampled Under Foot". Dopo essersi resi conto di avere solo tre lati di musica, scavarono tra i tesori inediti per completare l'opera, come il robusto "House of the Holy" e l'elegante strumentale acustico "Bron-Yr-Aur". Il tutto si fonde perfettamente in uno dei lavori più vasti, vari e maestosi degli Zeppelin.
