Absolution è il terzo album in studio della band alternative rock inglese Muse. È stato pubblicato il 15 settembre 2003 in Giappone, il 22 settembre 2003 nel Regno Unito su etichetta Mushroom Records e A&E Records, e il 23 marzo 2004 negli Stati Uniti da East West Records e Taste Media. L'album ha seguito le tendenze musicali eterogenee e il sound elaborato del predecessore, pur avendo un tema e un'estetica più focalizzati e coerenti. Absolution ha un tono musicalmente più scuro e pesante, con un focus lirico su concetti teologici e apocalittici. L'album ha raggiunto il numero uno nella classifica degli album nel Regno Unito. Ha anche prodotto il primo singolo della band a entrare nella top 10, con "Time Is Running Out" che ha raggiunto la posizione numero 8 nella classifica dei singoli nel Regno Unito. Nel 2009, è stato votato da Kerrang! come il secondo miglior album del 21° secolo fino ad allora. (Anche l'album precedente dei Muse, Origin of Symmetry, e la loro successiva uscita, Black Holes and Revelations, sono apparsi nella top fifty)
