Voordat Piebald bekend stonden om hun anthems en eigenzinnige charme, was er Venetian Blinds, een evolutie van hardcore wortels naar iets unieks, met al hun kenmerkende chaos en slimheid.

Oorspronkelijk uitgebracht in 1999 op Big Wheel Recreation, bracht "If It Weren’t For Venetian Blinds, It Would Be Curtains For Us All" Piebald's mix van het oprechte en het satirische naar de emo- en indierockscene van de jaren 90.

Nu presenteert Iodine Recordings trots een luxe heruitgave van dit essentiële album. Volledig geremasterd voor vinyl door Jack Shirley (Joyce Manor, Quicksand) in The Atomic Garden, en uitverkocht sinds de oorspronkelijke release. Deze geremasterde editie bevat volledig bijgewerkte artwork, gereconstrueerd uit origineel bronmateriaal en foto's, evenals een terugblikkend commentaar geschreven door de band.

Voortgekomen uit de bloeiende Merrimack Valley scene die ook Converge en Cave In voortbracht, overbrugde Venetian Blinds de kloof tussen underground post-hardcore experimenten en de hook-gedreven songwriting die al snel een tijdperk zou definiëren. Geestig, oprecht en onmogelijk te categoriseren, deze luxe heruitgave viert een cruciaal stuk van Piebald's geschiedenis.
